all draw same

all draw same is a compilation zine aimed at comic artists or writers living in Australia who are:

The zine is intended as a light-hearted look at attitudes to comic styles as they relate to heritage. Many interesting opinions and misconceptions surround how one's cultural background affects the comics they produce, especially with English-speaking readers' increased access to manga (Japanese comics), manhwa (Korean comics) and Hong Kong comics. I'm fully expecting to be surprised by the results!

The final product will be an A5 mini to be sold at this year's National Young Writer's Festival in Newcastle, NSW. Contributors will receive a free copy of the zine.

To participate in the zine, check that you fit into one of the categories listed above. If you do fit into one of them, download the template (in PDF format), fill it in and send it to me along with a short bio (100 words or less) and any contact info you would like printed. Please note that this will be photocopied, so flat grey tones or ink washes may not appear as you intend them to - however, screentones are okay.

If you don't fit the above categories but know someone who does, please spread the word! I'd like to see as wide a range of responses as possible. Please note that I may not be able to include everything I receive, but answering the questions at the bottom of the sheet honestly will go a long way towards getting into the zine. ;)

The deadline for submissions is 16 September 2005.
